weekly favorites - west elm

I was perusing on West Elm the other day for a few client purchases and, as usual, began shopping for myself!  This is a normal ritual with me and West Elm.  Shop, re-decorate, repeat.

This time I felt myself gravitating towards a neutral palette - a perfect backdrop for fresh summer accents and colors!  I could see all of these in a beach house just waiting for some muted blue accents to bring it all together!
This is what's on my wish list now!

What do you think?  Do you have any favorite websites that suck you in and force you to plan a whole new dream house?!

sponsor love - Mycraftwork

Happy Tuesday!  I thought we would start of the week with my newest sponsor - Mycraftwork, a store dedicated to high quality imported handmade goods from rugs and handthrown pottery to paintings.

Started in 2007, Mycraftwork LLC is run by two brothers born and raised in Morocco.  The concept behind the company is simple; they strive to promote Moroccan Interior Design and to share the beauty of Moroccan handmade crafts through their custom-designed cooperative creations.
Here's a little bit of their story.

The younger brother, Tao, settled in the US, working as an Engineer for a multinational corporation while Houssine decided to stay in Marrakesh to pursue a career as the CFO of a large resort hotel group.
In 2007, Tao was in Morocco visiting with friends and family, and older brother Houssine decided to give him a tour of a newly finished 5 star resort that he was in charge of. Every room Tao visited in that resort - from single rooms to suites - were all furnished with 100% Unique Moroccan Handmade crafts.
Amazed by the quality of the finished crafts, the brothers realized that by empowering the cooperative artisans, they could become pioneers in the field of custom-designed handmade Moroccan crafts.
Five years later, they have over 16 large account clients and growing - mostly interior design firms and Bed & Breakfast inns. They also just signed a contract with Kenzi Hotels Resort from Morocco to provide their large account clients with special discounted vacation packages and are currently working on the possibility of including guided cooperative tours in these packages.
To add a piece of Morocco to your space, take a look at some of my favorite pieces Mycraftwork has to offer:

Make sure to head over to their site, Mycraftwork and take a look at all of their products for yourself!  You will not be disappointed - I can't wait to pick something out myself!

summer tablescape

Happy Sunday everyone!  Hope you are all enjoying your long weekend with family and friends and hopefully you are outside!  It has been HOT around here (can't complain about that!) and we have been enjoying our time outside BBQ-ing and relaxing by the pool!

To "unofficially" kick off the summer I pulled together some of my favorite summer tablescapes because there's nothing that I love more than throwing a party and styling a table - especially outside!

Are you throwing any parties this summer?  Would you use any of these are inspirations for your own tablescapes?

a new beginning..let's get personal

I have some very exciting news and was waiting for just the right time to share it with everyone!  As most of you know, I currently have a full-time job in fashion and I work on my blog and interior styling business on the side, part-time (mornings, nights, weekends, and every free second in-between)!  I have been doing this for a few months and it's been a rough, busy, and tiring road, but one well worth it!
After much discussion with my parents and Eric, I have decided to leave my job and pursue my interior styling business, Lindsey Anne Interior Styling full time!!

I am extremely sad to leave my company since I have been there for 4 years and I love my co-workers, but I know this is the right time and I'm excited for the future!
Since this is a HUGE step, I am obviously overwhelmed, but thrilled with the possibilities.  This has not been an easy decision and I know there will be a lot of bumps along the road, but my current motto is, without risk, there will be no reward!

I do have to thank all of my amazing blogger/twitter/facebook/etc friends.  You have all been such wonderful inspirations to be and have helped me see that this dream is a possibility!  A little shout out to Liz from Shorely Chic!  She was one of the first people I reached out to when starting my little journey and she provided me with such inspiration and I saw myself in her!  Right from the start she was open and willing to share her story and some great tips!  This gave me the jump start I needed to move full speed ahead!

So in true Lindsey fashion, let's pop the bubbly and celebrate!

Thank you again to all my readers for such amazing support!  I'm excited to share this journey with you and maybe I've inspired someone else to follow their dreams!

an organized desk

I know I have been talking about redoing my desk area so much lately, but I'm finally starting to pull things together!  As an organizer, organizing is one of my favorite things to do!  Having an organized desk is a top priority for me.  It keeps me focused and more efficient.  It also helps maximize the small space that I have to work with!
As I start to put together my desk and add things to my shopping list, I've been looking for a lot of inspiration.  These are some of my favorites right now.

I like how all the boxes and file folders are a matching set.  Creates order.

love the metal board.

another huge board - this is a must!

a black door

I normally gravitate towards light neutrals but black has been on my mind lately!  First with my black + white bathroom post and now I'm all about a black door - an interior black door!  I've always been a fan of a black front door, so classic, but I've been seeing black on so many on interior doors (closets, inside of a front door, bedrooms - you name it!) and I'm smitten.  Now this is not a new trend, but I'm appreciate the beauty in it a lot more lately.  It can come off as subtle or bold, depending on what your room looks like.  I'm loving these right now.

rug roundup

Rugs are one of my favorite things to use to pull a room together.  A lot of times when I look at a room and feel like something is missing, I add a rug and it completely changes.  Rugs are also a great way to add pattern into a room.  Whether it's grounding a large room or adding some spice to a small room, the patterned rug can add depth and interest.  While some patterned rugs can feel dated or too traditional, there are great modern and fun options out there.  Here's a round-up of my favorites right now.

black + white bathroom

Happy Monday!  Time for a little bathroom inspiration!

I normally stick with neutrals and subdued blues and greens when decorating my bathroom but lately I have come across a lot decorated with a black and white scheme that have caught my eye.  It's a classic color combination that can add a modern touch.  In the hopes that I can re-do a bathroom in the near future, I pulled some inspiration.

I love sharing my week with you on Sunday's!

I mentioned I went to Block Island, RI after Brimfield last weekend and it was amazing!  If you've never been - I highly recommend!  It reminded me a lot of Ireland, which I love!

Surprise, more coffee!
Early morning relaxing outside.

easy, breezy saturday

Happy Weekend everyone! I don't know about you, but I'm so happy it's Saturday and the weather is supposed to be gorgeous!

We are heading down the shore for the weekend to catch up with my parents and celebrate a friend's birthday.
I'm looking forward to seeing everyone and just enjoying the beach!

let's take this party outside!

It's Friday and it's also the season of BBQs and outdoor parties I couldn't be happier!  We are fortunate enough to have a great backyard in the middle of our mostly urban town and throwing a weekend party is one of my favorite things to do!
Here are a few essentials to get you started with throwing a fun and stylish backyard party.

Have you thrown any parties outdoors lately?  What are your favorite things to entertain with outside?

e-decorating board - dressing room

I had a client contact me about doing an e-decorating board for a small spare room she has in her house.  After we talked about some ideas, we ultimately came up with a dressing room - hello jealousy!  I was so excited about this project and it was so fun to design.  Since I definitely do not have a dressing room (unless you count the 4 foot space in between my closet and bed), it was fun to help someone else put theirs together!

The initial inspiration started with the wallpaper and we went from there!  The client also wanted something girlie, but still sophisticated.
This is the board in it's beginning stages.

What do you think?  Could you see yourself getting ready in here?

a winner + brimfield finds

Brimfield was amazing!  E and I were a bit overwhelmed since it was our first time, but I think we did a pretty good job at navigating through!  While we didn't get to buy everything we wanted (small car and we have zero space left in our apartment!) we did pick up a few things that caught our eye!
Here's a little recap!
Vintage crate!

Styled in the apartment!

We found this fun old coffee can and it was our first purchase!
I love coffee and our living room is blue, so....perfect!

We found this and fell in LOVE!!!!
My wonderful twitter friends gave me great
ideas on what to do with it - can't wait for a little DIY!

What do you think?  Not bad for our first time.  We really loved a lot of furniture that we saw, but we really just don't have the room - maybe next time!  I'm content with our purchases!

Now on to the giveaway winner!

The winner is...
JanM!
Congrats, I will be in touch shortly!

Thank you to everyone for entering and a special thank you to my sponsor, Emily of Anna Delores Photo

lonny eye candy - may 2012

I spent much of Sunday night catching up with the latest edition of Lonny Mag.  Since there's always tons of gorgeous photos and inspiration, it takes me a while to absorb it all and I normally have to re-read a few times!

I couldn't choose just one of the house tours to feature this time, so I thought I would pick a few images of some favorites!

First up, Christy and Ryan Ford's Virginia home

The ottoman and that fun leopard rug are two
of my favorite things in this house!
Love the classic black + white look in the image
on the right

Next up, designer Jamie Meares of I suwannee, and her North Carolina home.

Love love the mirror!  I want to make
something similar with driftwood.
More leopard!  Love how it works so well,
even with a patterned rug!

A must-read blogger, Maryam Montague of My Marrakesh, with her desert home.

Patterns on staircases really catch my eye
lately and hese are stunning!

What did you think of the May edition?  What were your favorite images/articles?  Let's talk Lonny!

I posted for Kelly over at Hello Boudreau the other day!
Make sure to take a look and check out her amazing blog - it's one of my daily reads!
