holiday decorating - mantels

I love decorating for the holidays!  It's a great way to change up the look of the room, and pulling out my decorations immediately gets me in the holiday spirit!
When you have an entire house to decorate, the task can seem a little daunting and overwhelming.  I like to tell clients to break it up and go room by room and then in sections.
Today I wanted to show you some gorgeous, unique holiday mantels.  This is a great spot in the house where people can really get creative!

beach house living room e-design

Putting together this e-design board for a beach house living room was fun!  The client wanted to re-do their beach house, that is now their full-time residence, and "de-beach" it.  Since they will now be living there full-time, they want it to feel more like a comfortable, cozy home, instead of just a beach getaway
We decided to stick with a neutral and light palette, so it still fit the surroundings.  We added in a few earth tones and a simple pattern on the chair pillows and rug.
I can't wait to see how the couple pulls this room together for the finished product (maybe they will even invite me over?!)!
In respect of my client, I keep all my sources private.  If you would like to know where something is from, just send me an e-mail!

Here's a sneak peek into a fun bedroom bedroom project I worked on!
I love the wall color we decided on - it's a perfect backdrop for the white furniture and green accents!

This is such a great holiday to decorate the table because the colors are gorgeous and natural fall decor is perfect to decorate with!

What does your Thanksgiving tablescape look like?  Do you stick with a traditional look or do you like to add your own special touch - from glamorous to eclectic - I want to see!

Just today I finished sending off all of my Thanksigiving tabletop decor inspiration boards - I had a lot of clients purchase these this year, and they were a hit and so much fun to work on!  I look forward to doing more for the upcoming holidays!

Happy Saturday!
I couldn't resist sharing this gorgeous bathroom I came across while browsing this morning.  I love the simple elements and color palette and words are not needed for that tub and shower!

which office...

The age old debate....which office do you think you would be most productive in?

Do you prefer a clean, crisp, no-frills space that's tranquil and non-distracting?

Or do you prefer bright colors and an eclectic mix of visual interest to spark your creativity?

I like both, but under different circumstances, depending on what I'm working on!
I think I lead more towards the first one, keeping things neutral and then when I create inspiration boards for clients - that's where the color and interest comes in!  At least that is constantly changing!

What does your office (or dream office) look like?

glamour nursery style

Lately, I've been getting a lot of nursery design client, which are fun and definitely an interesting learning experience for me!  I have learned a lot about what's actually needed in a nursery, how to design it to be baby and toddler friendly, aesthetically pleasing for the parents, but still looking like a nursery..the list goes on!

I've tackled super pink rooms, a nursery for a boy and a girl, sports-themed, fun and colorful, gender neutral, etc.  They have all been fun in their own way and I'm sure this next project will follow along!

The mommy-to-be client wants a light-neutral color palette, but with a touch of glamour (baby glam - I love!).  The only pink she wants will be tiny accents.  This is her first baby so we will be starting from the ground up, turning a former guest bedroom into the perfect nursery for her little bundle of joy!

Since nursery clients have a serious deadline, I'm hitting the ground running early this morning to pull inspiration so we can move full speed ahead!

Stay tuned for the inspiration board on this room - I can't wait to put it together!

wedding fun - asking your bridesmaids

One of my favorite parts of wedding planing so far has been asking my bridesmaids.  There are so many fun and unique ideas out there - some simple, some way over-the-top, from sitting down and asking in person to sending a basket full of fun bridesmaid's goodies!
I had found the perfect way to ask my girls a while before I had gotten engaged (whoops!).  Enter The Flour Pot - a fun cookie boutique that has all sorts of different kinds of cookies for all different occassions - perfect for yourself or to send as gifts.
I thought sending a cookie was the perfect way for me to ask my bridesmaids for a few different reasons - 1. being that they don't all live near me and asking them all in person wasn't exactly an option, 2. anyone that knows me knows that I'm obsessed with anything sweet and 3. I wanted them to feel special and loved the idea of sending them something!

They have a whole section dedicated to "be my bridesmaid" and I had to choose from all of these options!

I ended up choosing the Jessica Dress because I thought it was perfect for my bridesmaids!  I was able to customize the dress to be a pretty blue color (they had 13 dress color options) and I also was able to choose the ribbon color.  You also are able to choose from a list of "Will you be my..." that is on the card they receive and then you can add in your own little note.  I then had them shipped straight to the girls and here was the result!

I was thrilled with how they turned out and all of my girl's were so excited!
I was blown away by the amount of compliments I received and how many people asked me where I had these done so I wanted to pass along the great shop - The Flour Pot.  I will definitely be sending more cookies from here in the future - definitely around the holidays, they have the cutest gift boxes filled with cute cookies, birthdays, bridal showers, they even do custom logo cookies - perhaps when I have a Lindsey Anne Interior Styling launch party!

Now I want to know, how did you ask your bridal party?

*The Flour Pot is not a sponsor of my blog or my business and I am in no way being endorsed for this post.  I just really loved their cookies and wanted to pass along the information to my readers and clients - enjoy!

lonny mag - november

Have you read Lonny's November issue yet?  I spent a lot of yesterday browsing through the pages, picking out my favorite spaces, articles and inspirations.  As usual, this issue did not disappoint!

It's no surprise that the "Sag Harbor Sanctuary"immediately stood out to me!  This gorgeous Hampton's abode is the work of designer Ari Heckman, who lives in the home!

Of course my favorite part of this room is the exposed beams!
The beams, and the brick wall painted white add texture and interest to an otherwise neutral room.

What a study!  I would love to get some work done in here!  Pops from the art and the rug add color, but don't take away from the room's tranquil atmosphere.

Gorgeous!! Nothing like a scheme of gray, white and chrome.

I love the look of an industrial table in the kitchen.  White walls and dark hardwood floors are my favorite so this room is just amazing!  Open shelving can be tricky, but these are perfectly styled!

This master feels like it bellows in a cabin in Vermont!  I love all of the wood - especially the fireplace! The light wall color helps to distract the eye away from the slope on the ceiling.

room of the day

Happy Saturday!  I'm busy with a few client projects today - weddings and interiors - and hopefully there will be some time to squeeze in my own wedding planning!

I saw this room and immediately wanted to put it up on the blog!  The style is different from what I normally gravitate to, which is what I love about it.  It has a unique, eclectic vibe that really works in the space.  My favorite part is definitely the gorgeous sofa!

wedding tabletop decor

I just finished up this tabletop decor project that I worked on with an amazing bridal client!
Her wedding is taking place outside in sunny California (I'm jealous!) and wanted to stick to a simple and soft color palette.  With her fiancĂ©'s approval, she wanted to make the tables look feminine and sophisticated.  We had previously decided on a color palette of soft golds and blush pink, which worked perfectly with her vision.

favorites under $50 - pillows + throws

This time of year, everyone wants to cozy up on the couch with a comfy throw and a good pillow.  I always say changing around pillows and blankets are great ways to freshen up your space every season, which is why I am rounding up my favorites under $50.  All of these are great for the winter season in neutral colors that could work in any room!

pretty rooms

I'm back - after a long, un-planned hiatus!  Hurricane Sandy left us without power for a few days, and I'm just now getting my computer back up and running.  I'll touch more on how Sandy barreled through my second home, the Jersey shore, but for now, I just feel like posting lots of pretty rooms and inspiring spaces.

Thanks for sticking with me on this little hiatus and hopefully things will be back on track, soon!
