The theme of this week's hop was organizing! Along with my interior styling services, I'm also an organizer so this topic was perfect for me!
Here is the organized office Olioboard I came up with.
Now for some tips!
Bookshelves - Always a MUST in any room that needs organizing! They are the perfect place to put any baskets, paper organizers, books, etc that you need. They also are a great place to add some decorative accents to make the organizing look more chic!
Combo Pieces - A piece like this is what I call a "combo piece". A combo piece is a place that has shelves that come with baskets and built-in drawers. You can always take the baskets out for open space or keep them in to hide things you don't want displayed, or just keep things looking cleaner. The built-in drawers are a great place to keep smaller items like pens, calculator, ruler, markers, whatever work items you might need!
Hidden Storage - Having a piece that has doors that close as opposed to just baskets are always important. You may want to hide important documents or keep things closed off from pets or kids.
Baskets - These might be the #1 organizing tool to have! Now they come in so many different shapes, sizes, colors, finishes, you can always find the right one for your space! They add a bit of a decorative touch while still serving the purpose of organizing! You can keep just about anything in a basket - small ones for sewing items, drawing tools, clothing accessories, bigger ones for files, clothes, fabric, etc!
Desktop Accessories - Keeping your desk clean and clutter-free is extremely important when organizing. The easier it is to find something on your workspace, the better! I suggest you only keep those papers and things that you always need right on the desk and keep everything else in another spot. Using accessories like file holders and pencil cups will keep everything together while still looking good!
Wall Shelving - This is a must have for most spaces, but especially smaller rooms. Using wall space will help maximize the room you have. You can accessorize them will just about anything!
If you use these tips and tools you will be on your way to creating an organized and functional space! Make sure to keep everything clutter-free and give everything a designated space!
