do what you love every day

image from here

I have been extremely busy every day and trying to build something from the ground up is exhausting(which I'm sure most of you know!).  This little quote is a great reminder that it's important to do what YOU LOVE every day.  Hope you are all doing the same!
Enjoy your weekend!

I found this great poster from Happy Deliveries while I was perusing Etsy.  Visit their Etsy shop  [here].  You should definitely check it out, they have a lot of really great quotes and posters.

p.s. Don't forget to enter the Sarah Swanson Gallery Wall giveaway below [or here].  Contest ends Monday at 9pm E.S.T.

pastel inspirations

With Spring upon us, I've been looking for ways to lighten and brighten my apartment.  Pastels are a great way to do just that.  I love decorating with them because they're fun and girlie and I love introducing them after a long winter of dark, saturated colors.
Whether decorating an entire room with this scheme or just using as accents, pastels are a great way to transition into Spring and freshen up your space.
These are some of the images that are inspiring me right now.

Are you decorating with any pastels right now?  How are you using them?

a calming space

Whenever "NEW ARRIVALS" shows up on my favorite website or catalog I get excited!
Of course when I saw West Elm added some new products, I knew I was going to take some time to sit and enjoy! Their products are always spot-on with exactly what I want. It’s like they read my mind or something!
I've been so worn out lately trying to juggle a million things at once (details to come later!) so I took some time to sit down and pine over some great items!

Every piece that I was drawn to seem to have something in common, it read clean, crisp, and comfortable. With all the hustle and bustle I need a break to relax without any distraction or unnecessary clutter and that's what this space does for me.

This is the inspiration for exactly what I need right now, a cozy reading nook where I can unwind.

all above items from West Elm
How do you relax and de-stress?  What's your ideal calming environment?  I'd love to hear your thoughts!

weekend roundup

I had a pretty lazy and relaxing weekend, which is just what I needed!

Dinner at Grimaldi's - amazing pizza!

Went for a really long walk on Saturday morning.
This is a shot of downtown Manhattan from across the water.

Someone was very tired after!

Made some delicious cinnamon rolls.  I always follow The Pioneer Woman's recipe (here).  It's the best one I've tried and I always get the best compliments when I make them!

Other than that, I've had my nose buried in design catalogs all weekend for some exciting projects and possibilities! (This is why my posts have been non interior design posts all weekend.  Needed a break!  Anyone else ever feel like that?)

What did everyone else do this weekend?

guest posting on ELLE design studio

The other morning I was having a little chat with Erica from ELLE Design Studio and she asked me to do a guest post for her about my recent grey + yellow post.  I was very excited and honored and love making new friends who have the same interests!
I had a great time diving into my grey + yellow obsession again and added in a few new things.
Be sure to check out the post on her blog, here - [guest post - lindsey pinkowsky of pinklet + c]

A big thank you again to Erica for such a lovely honor!  Definitely head over to check out her blog and website - she is absolutely talented!
